Youth Ministry
Kid's Club
Kids Club is our Wednesday afternoon program for 1st-6th grade children. We usually meet from 3:30 to 4:30 pm during the school year. Our meeting consists of a snack, crafts, games, and bible stories Kid’s Club is paused for now until we find a new Elementary Youth Leader.
Youth Group
Youth Group is for 7th-12th grade youth. It is led by our Jr. & Sr. High Youth Leader, Kaitlyn Burdorf with the continued voluntary support of Ronda Thielke. We meet Wednesdays during the school year from 5:30-7:00 pm. We have supper, we check in with each other, we discuss everyday life, we do service projects, we have fun, and we have a strong faith in God.
Mentor Programs
Our Mentor program is for all Confirmation students. Our hope is that these intergenerational relationships will help the youth be more connected to church.
Youth will pick a Mentor the first year of Confirmation. They will be expected to meet two times a year and also either greet at church or Fairway View Neighborhood. We will meet three times a year as a large group.
Confirmation
Confirmation classes are for youth 7th-9th grade. They meet Wednesday after school during the school year. Confirmation is in the fall of 10th grade, usually on the last Sunday in October, Reformation Sunday.
2024-2025
Pastor Cheryl Rondeau-Bassett will lead our 2024 classes this fall starting September 18th, 2024. Confirmation interviews will be held on September 11th, 2024. Classes will be held on Wednesdays (with an earlier time period for Early Out School Days).
- 7-8th Graders will meet Wed. at 3:30 pm (1:45 pm on early outs).
- The 9th Graders will meet Wed. at 4:30 pm (2:45 pm on early outs).
Sunday School
We meet on Sundays from 10:00-11:00 am during the school year. Sunday School is led by the Board of Christian Education members and volunteers. Rally Sunday, which kicks off the Sunday School year, was September 15th, 2024.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible Study during the summer is for children that have finished Kindergarten through sixth grade. There are bible stories, arts & crafts, activities, and lots of singing! There is no cost to you. We hope that your child will join us!
'26 VBS Coming!
2026 VBS will be held in the evenings from 6:30-8:45 pm, May 31st – June 4th at Zion Lutheran Church, with a closing program on June 4th. Registration will open in spring!
