Election Day Prayer Vigil
November 5 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Pastor Cheryl will hold a special non-denominational & non-political prayer service. It will be a time of prayer and scripture reading for our National Election, held on Tues, November 5th, 11:00 am in Zion Lutheran Church’s sanctuary.
ALL ARE WELCOME!
God’s Word will be read to hear what scriptures has to say about peace and our responsibility to honor our government.
We pray for the safety of election workers across the country. We pray God gives us a sense of thanks and gratitude for our freedoms and blessing. We will pray that God lead voters in truth for what is good and right for His will. We pray for the protection of the candidates. We pray for trustworthy leaders with a desire for justice and compassion, to serve with wisdom and a sense of mutual respect for all people, especially the vulnerable and oppressed. During this time of great division in our country, our prayers will conclude with petitions for unity and reconciliation.
1 Tim 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people– 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
